Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts — aka rapper R-Shitei and DJ Matsunaga — had a hit single this year with the track “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 (where it has remained for 19 straight weeks) and No. 8 on the Billboard Global 200. The pair cruised through Dodger Stadium on Saturday to perform the track by adding a little vroom-vroom to their first-ever U.S. performance.
They delivered a two-song set that took place just outside the centerfield line ahead of the Dodgers’ 4:15 p.m. matchup against the Boston Red Sox, the second of a three-game series. But this wasn’t typical pre-game entertainment as the Sony Music act touched down at Dodger Stadium as part of an activation for the new automotive brand Afeela, a joint venture from Sony and Honda.
There were two prototypes on site, marking the first unveiling of the vehicle at a sporting event and one of the first major appearances outside of back-to-back showings at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Sedan pre-orders begin in 2025 with deliveries eyed to begin in North America in spring 2026. Afeela features advanced sensing technology, a noise-cancelling cabin, spatial audio, automated parking and AI driving assistance.
R-Shitei and DJ Matsunaga emerged from the vehicle to kick off their performance as a cloud of smoke filtered out from a machine placed not far from a gaggle of influencers on site to soak up the scene, including the Anime Men, Forrest Jones, Hannah Kosh, Adam Barrera, Che Mosley, Jacki Jing, Novak and Micah, among others.
“The Afeela prototype is an impressive feat of technology, and we are so glad that Sony Honda Mobility chose Dodger Stadium as the first sports venue in the world to display their uniquely designed prototype,” said Lon Rosen, executive vp and chief marketing officer for the Los Angeles Dodgers. “It’s a powerful validation of the Dodgers’ platform for supporting new product launches and driving brand resonance efforts across key priority markets.”
See the performance below. Oh, and for those interested in the action on the field, the Dodgers won Saturday’s game 7-6 in a thrilling 11-inning game, going on to eventually sweep the entire series 3-0.
