Jennifer Aniston’s Hair Is Basically ‘the Rachel’ Again at the 2024 SAG Awards

Jennifer Aniston’s hair has always captivated fans—whether she’s getting bangs, embracing her grays, or doing something totally unexpected. And though the length and style has varied over the years, the actor has generally kept it on the long side in recent memory.

That was until last month, when Aniston stepped out at the Golden Globes with a surprisingly short shoulder-grazing haircut. But it turns out, the cut was just a teaser, an appetizer, a taste, if you will, of what was to come.

At Saturday’s SAG Awards, Aniston—who presented the lifetime achievement award to Barbra Streisand, and is also a nominee for outstanding performance by a female actor, for The Morning Show—hit the red carpet wearing a slinky silver Celine dress, and a even shorter haircut. We’re in full-on bob territory now. In fact, we would even argue the style is a 2024 take of her iconic “Rachel.”

Aniston, for her part, may disagree with the assessment. In the past, she has spoken out multiple times about how much she despised the famous hairstyle.

In an interview with People in 2022, Aniston said that her hairstylist Chris McMillan (whom she still works with regularly) was “the bane of my existence because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look.”

She also said that the cut was hard to style. “‘The Rachel’ was high maintenance,” Aniston told Marie Claire back in 2013. “I’d curse Chris every time I had to blow dry. It took three brushes—it was like doing surgery!”

The new look Aniston debuted at the SAG Awards doesn’t have quite the same level of volume as the original Rachel, so here’s hoping that, for Jennifer Aniston’s sake, it’s a bit easier this time around.
