Jordan Hawkins delivers the personal track “What Are We” for the latest episode of SpringHill’s live performance series, On Site. The platform was launched by the SpringHill Company to support rising, independent talent by providing the opportunity to deliver a raw, intimate performance.
With his heartfelt performance, the R&B singer joins a handful of talent performing for the second season of the series, including Kenyon Dixon, Zyah Belle, and Reason.
“This season I’m really excited because it allows us to have a point of view in music,” detailed SpringHill’s GM Krystyn Price on set. “[We’re] introducing new faces that people may not know, some that they may know, but now we’re embedded in the music conversation.…We’re being very thoughtful about how we enter in the rooms and make sure we’re doing it from an authentic perspective and translating the culture from an authentic lens. That’s important.”

As the 21-year-old artist entered the brightly lit stage area, his focus shifted from the buzzing production crew to his microphone and guitar.
“I picked this song. It is off of my new EP Foreplay, which is an EP that kind of details this story of early stages of a relationship when it’s very much in its lustful stages,” shared the North Carolina native.
“‘What Are We’ is the final song on the project, and it kind of poses the question after ups and downs of dating and all these kind of risqué moments. The sexual tension is like, ‘Okay, what are we actually right now?’ I feel like that’s always the question that it ultimately comes to when you are vibing with somebody. Eventually, that question comes. I feel like it’s just a song that a lot of people can relate to, so I’m just happy to play it here today.”
