Hot off his lauded supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” actor Josh Hartnett has joined the cast of M. Night Shyamalan’s new film.
Hartnett and Shyamalan’s R&B singer-songwriter daughter Saleka are both set for the project which was previously titled “Trap” but is now going under the name “Good Grades”.
The project is said to be a psychological thriller set at a concert with Hartnett playing a father attending the concert with his child whilst Saleka plays a pop star. Further plot specifics are under wraps.
The project has scored a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement which allows Shyamalan to film it during the ongoing actor’s strike. The project had been shooting earlier in the summer before the strikes paused it.
Now that it has that waiver, shooting is already back underway in the province of Ontario, Canada. Shyamalan is coming off solid reviews for his apocalyptic thriller “Knock at the Cabin” which was released back in February.
Hartnett has been having a bit of a renaissance of late with roles in Guy Ritchie’s “Wrath of Man” and “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” and a notable guest spot on “Black Mirror”.
