Karmine Corp Hosts One of the Biggest Esports Events in History

On the evening of Saturday, September 16th, Karmine Corp – a French esports organisation – hosted the event of a lifetime in Paris. It was the third iteration of the organisation’s ‘KCORP vs. The World’ event – a veritable feast of esports talent all coming together on a single, grand stage. During this event, top-tier esports teams from around the world were flown into Paris to compete against Karmine Corp’s own players in VALORANT, League of Legends, Smash, and Rocket League.

Now, there aren’t any major prizes on the line – they’re basically just exhibition matches. But that hasn’t stopped more than 130,000 concurrent viewers from tuning in live and around 30,000 people watching in person in the sold-out arena in the heart of France. By live attendance, it’s one of the most popular esports events in history, and it features some huge names participating in matches across some of the most valuable games in the industry.

Nothing On The Line, But It’s Still Impressive

This is the third time that Karmine Corp has hosted this event, and during the last showcase, around 12,000 fans bought tickets and turned up. This time around, that number has almost tripled, and in a massive arena in Paris, the energy became absolutely electric. In clips that have surfaced from the event, we’re seeing fantastic production value, with the main stage looking absolutely incredible.

There’s a buzz in the crowd that’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before, with fans getting well and truly engaged with the varied offerings on display. From VALORANT to League of Legends and from Smash to Rocket League, there’s something for every kind of fan during this relatively unique event. It’s akin to the monumental, weeks-long festival hosted in Riyadh – Gamers8 – which features a coming together of esports organisations across a wide range of games.

There’s one key difference – Gamers8 offers up one of the largest prize pools in esports history.

In a statement to Forbes, Arthur Perticoz, the CEO of Karmine Corp, spoke passionately about the energy in the community:

‘The proof that we were quite right (about taking risks) was that we sold 25,000 tickets in a week, 18k the first night. I don’t know all the numbers, but I’m pretty sure that it will be the biggest esports event for female esports in the world in terms of crowds.’

And that note about it being big for female esports? Karmine Corp is pushing the progressive nature of this event even further by featuring female teams and competitors.

It’s literally every box ticked – it’s one of the boldest and most ambitious events we’ve ever seen, and it has been financed entirely by Karmine Corp. With one of the most vocal crowds we’ve ever seen mixed in with an electric arena, switched-on leadership, and fantastic levels of collaboration, something like this could be the future of esports.
