Once regarded as a wooden log, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) has been leading a few dramas in recent years to satisfactory ratings. With a blossoming romance and career, he spills secrets and shares why thankful he is to meet his soon-to-be life partner, Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯)!
The actor once revealed during an interview that “computers to me are only for reading news online, watching football matches and surfing explicit content. At my age, you wouldn’t believe me if I said I have never visited those sites…. I only do what a normal person does.” Receiving wide support for his candidness, netizens praised Kenneth for being a “true man who doesn’t hold back” while others labeled him ideal boyfriend material. Asked about his current habits, Kenneth quickly turned red in the face and said, “I only sleep 3 to 4 hours a day and don’t even have time for wedding planning! Plus now I have a wife, I wouldn’t need to watch that type of content.”
Films “Flight Diary” Right after Pre-Honeymoon
Having filmed countless onscreen weddings, Kenneth shared that he has no special feelings about the ceremony, but only hopes his other half will like how it turns out. Since his dad is unable to take long-haul flights, Kenneth revealed that he would be holding a small-scale overseas wedding somewhere in Southeast Asia that would allow him to take a short 3 to 4 hour flight. Receiving late instructions to film for TVB airline-themed 10-episode drama Flight Diary , Kenneth returned to Hong Kong upon completing his pre-honeymoon and wedding photoshoot in France with Roxanne.
Feeling pampered with all the good food and famous architectural and tourist spots they checked out in France, Roxanne revealed it was their first time touring Europe together, and Kenneth was responsible for driving her around during the trip. “I feel so spoilt!” the 38-year-old said.
Likes How Roxanne Is Not Overly “Clingy”
A self-described boring guy, Kenneth is delighted that he has met someone who is willing to match his pace of life. He said happily, “I’m a real boring person who’s bad at talking, but Roxanne is willing to stay by me and is someone who knows how to appreciate the fine things in life. At the same time she’s homely and loves cooking. We’re very compatible.”
Praising Roxanne for helping him out with housekeeping, the mama’s boy said, “She helps me so I have less to worry about. She is a simple person who isn’t hard to cajole. She knows I love acting and have expectations about myself so she tries not to disturb me on many decisions.”
Describing Roxanne as being “clingy like one of his three pet cats,” he acknowledged not all men like their partners to be clingy. Kenneth was unlike them, yet at the same time appreciative of how Roxanne would give him enough freedom to pursue his soccer pastime.
Asked about the couple’s baby plans, the actor answered he would let nature take its course, though he described himself as likely to be a strict father especially if he had sons due to his own father’s influence on him. With a smooth-sailing career and blooming romance, Kenneth termed recent years the “happiest years of his life” as he has got his hands on good drama scripts and a great partner!
