It seems Kim Kardashian was unfazed by criticism regarding her Halloween decorations.
Just a few months after facing backlash over a haunted house that some described as a “sick display of wealth,” the 43-year-old reality star began sharing a countdown to Christmas on her @kimandnorth account, complete with multiple sneak peaks at this year’s over-the-top winter holiday decor.
The most recent video boasts seven bow-covered Christmas trees (some with Chanel logo branding), a trio of Christmas stockings under a large flat-screen TV, and a plethora of fake snow and festive figurines and plushies—and that’s all just in North West’s room. “Holiday decor—one of the kid’s rooms,” Kardashian captioned the video, though it’s no mystery which of the reality star’s four children the room belongs to, considering the “North Pole” sign hanging over the bed.
Of course, Kardashian didn’t sacrifice her beige aesthetic in her living room, which currently features one large Christmas tree decked out in white lights and a few tasteful deer sculptures—not to be confused with much larger, fuzzier reindeer.
It seems she’s saved the forrest of Christmas trees for the bathroom.
If you’re surprised by the living area’s lack of whimsy, where have you been? Kardashian famously keeps her home decked out in white and beige tones, much to her children’s chagrin. “Every time I get into some kind of disagreement with my daughter North, she thinks this is a dig to me: She’ll say, ‘Your house is so ugly, it’s all white! Who lives like this?’” Kardashian said during her episode of Ellen DeGeneres’s digital series Mom Confessions in October 2021. “She just thinks it, like, gets to me, and it is kind of mean because I like my house.”
Kardashian expanded on this dynamic in April 2022, explaining that she tries to keep her decor as “zen” as possible during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan. “My kids probably hate me,” she joked. “Like, North will say, ‘Your house is so ugly! It’s all plain, it’s all white!’ She thinks it really gets to me. I’m like, ‘It’s your house too!’”
