Yudetamago serialized the action comedy manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from 1979 to 1987. The manga returned to the ShuuPlay News web magazine in 2011. Shueisha shipped the 82nd volume on June 2. The 83rd volume is scheduled to be released on Friday.
Weekly Playboy serialized two sequel manga from 1997 to 2011. Shueisha released the second manga’s 28th and final volume in December 2011.
Toei Animation produced the original 137-episode television anime that aired from April 1983 to October 1986. The franchise has inspired multiple sequels, movies, and special releases over the years.
4Kids Entertainment licensed the Kinnikuman II Sei anime series and aired it on Fox’s Fox Box programming block in the United States. Discotek Media licensed the series on October 25.
