It’s official—Serena Page and Kordell Beckham a.k.a. #Korena have been named the season six winners of Love Island USA.
The doting couple has proved that Black love remains top-tier after taking home the crowns and $100,000 prize during the finale on Sunday night (July 21), just after six weeks of dating.
Serena caught the attention of Odell Beckham Jr.‘s younger brother from the moment they entered the villa on this season’s premiere, but then their slow-burn romance began. After they began to explore the physical aspects of their union, it was tested when Kordell returned from Casa Amor with new partner, Daia McGhee. However, once that fizzled out, the fight to win Serena back was on.
They shared several adorable moments throughout the season including a host of matching fits, creating their own handshake, and even the time the two bonded while Serena detangled Kordell’s hair. “You make me feel like myself when I’m with you,” he gushed during the act.
The two even met each other’s families through video calls and yes, Serena did meet OBJ. As the NFL star reflected on Serena and Kordell being made for each other from the beginning, he expressed, “I love it; I’m telling you.” He later described Serena as a “great partner,” before Kordell jumped in, “Slow and steady wins the race, and she won the race to my heart.”
During the couple’s last date at the villa, it concluded with a note that read, “Not the end, [but] the beginning…” They both agreed that their dates in the villa were “the best” they ever experienced in life.
Following their win, they shared how they’re ready to experience an amusement park together as a first, formal date and Serena praised herself for being able to be vulnerable in front of the world.
For Kordell, he didn’t think he’d find someone “so fast,” but “it all worked out.”
A reunion special will air on Aug. 19 at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock with Serena and Kordell returning alongside the other finalists and season six bombshells.
