Meryl Streep and Martin Short were photographed leaving dinner together Wednesday night after denying speculation that they are dating.
The “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars enjoyed a meal with a group of friends at trendy restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Calif.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Streep, 74, and Short, 73, are an item.
However, the “Saturday Night Live” alum shut down the chatter during an episode of the “Club Random with Bill Maher” podcast last month.
“We’re not a couple. We are just very close friends,” he insisted.

Even their “OMITB” co-star Jackie Hoffman recently told Page Six that she does not believe the two are dating.
“I’ve seen platonic chemistry, but I didn’t think for one second,” she shared. “I think they’re both such good actors that everyone believed it because they wanted to believe it.”
Hoffman added with a laugh, “He’s always ‘on,’ and I can’t picture her tolerating it!”

The former couple share four children: singer Henry Wolfe, 44, and actresses Mamie Gummer, 40, Grace Gummer, 37, and Louisa Jacobson, 32.
Short, meanwhile, was married to actress Nancy Dolman from 1980 until her death in 2010 from ovarian cancer.
They had three kids together: Katherine Elizabeth Short, 40, Oliver Patrick Short, 37, and Henry Hayter Short, 34.
