Michigan Mega Millions Player Wins $1M, Jackpot Reaches $421M

Michigan Mega Millions Player Wins $1M, Jackpot Reaches $421M

A Mega Millions player in Davison who purchased a ticket at the Kroger store at 700 N. State Road for last Friday’s drawing has won a $1 million prize.

According to the Michigan Lottery, the player successfully matched all five white balls (08-17-40-60-70) but missed the Mega Ball (03).

Winner Is Still Unknown

The winner has still not come forward to redeem the prize. He has one year to claim the winnings before the ticket expires.

Since the Mega Millions jackpot of $393 million did not find any winner, the jackpot has now reached the $421 million mark for the upcoming drawing on Tuesday at 11 p.m. ET.

The jackpot will feature a cash option of around $196 million.

The previous Mega Millions jackpot winner scooped up $842 million on a ticket bought from the Food Castle in Blanc Township, located at the intersection of Dort Highway and Grand Blanc Road.

Half a year later, the prize is still unclaimed.

The Mega Millions game is played in 45 US states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Over 31,000 Winning Tickets Sold in Michigan

The lucky Davison player who still needs to claim his life-changing win was joined by 31,000 other ticket purchasers across Michigan who scooped up prizes between $2 and $10,000.

To hit a Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all five white balls as well as the gold Mega Ball.

The odds of that happening are 1 in 302,575,350. A ticket costs $2 and must be purchased before the sales cut-off time specific to participating states.

Michigan Lottery asks winners to get in touch with their office and make an appointment to redeem their winnings at the Lottery’s headquarters in Lansing.

The latest $1 million winner should soon take action or risk turning into another statistic like the case of the $1 million ticket winner from Southfield who failed to redeem the big win last year.

The money eventually reached the state’s School Aid Fund.

Players are advised to verify their tickets as soon as possible.

A week ago, a particularly lucky lotto player in his 80s from Mason, Michigan, won a $2 million lottery prize on the Diamonds & Gold instant game while doing his grocery shopping at the Meijer store located at 550 Hull Road in Ingham County.

At the end of February, a 55-year-old woman from Montcalm County won a small prize of just a few dollars from a ticket purchased at the Trufant Gas and Party Store station, put the money back into play for the Jackpot Slots Fast Cash jackpot, and netted $791,957.
