Cooper Koch (“Power Book II: Ghost”) will play Erik Menendez alongside Nicholas Alexander Chavez (“General Hospital”) as Lyle Menendez in the second season of Ryan Murphy’s Netflix anthology series “Monster”.
This will serve as a follow-up to “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” starring Evan Peters as infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in a show which became a streaming sensation last year.
The second season will tell the story of the real-life brothers who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, Jose and Mary Louise ‘Kitty’ Menendez.
The siblings eventually confessed to patricide but have long sustained that the reason for their actions was due to physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
It is not yet unknown how much of the Menendez brothers’ lives will be covered in the second season, but the streamer also has a forthcoming documentary feature on the pair.
The castings were reportedly done before the writer’s strike and the “American Horror Story” co-creator hasn’t been involved in any activity on the project since then.
