The official “Star Wars” YouTube channel has uploaded two new videos today – a new 30 second spot for the upcoming “Star Wars: Ahsoka” series along with a one-minute piece in which actress Rosario Dawson explains her character rather rapidly.
Set after her appearances in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett,” the series follows Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire.
The new TV spot sees Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano appearing to train Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) as her apprentice in the fight against the looming threat – the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen).
The show serves as a live-action continuation to the animated series “Star Wars Rebels,” though that series is not required viewing prior to watching. The new series was developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for Disney+.
The cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Wes Chatham as Captain Enoch, David Tennant as the voice of Huyang, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.
Dave Filoni wrote all eight episodes while also directing further episodes with Peter Ramsey, Steph Green, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa also directing.
The first two episodes of “Star Wars: Ahsoka” premiere on Disney+ on August 23rd.
