Three names in cinema have teased what’s coming next for them.
First, acclaimed filmmaker David Lynch has shared a video on social media announcing that he will reveal a secret project this coming Wednesday, June 5th. He says “something is coming along…. for you to see and hear” on that date.
That’s all he’s said. Lynch hasn’t directed a film since 2006’s “Inland Empire” but hopes to one day make his long-delayed animated film “Snootworld”. More recently he helmed all eighteen episodes of Showtime’s “Twin Peaks: The Return” in 2017.
Next up, the first trailer for the Jon Watts-directed “Wolfs” is set to go online on Wednesday according to World of Reel. George Clooney and Brad Pitt star as two lone wolf fixers assigned to the same gig. Sony Pictures has set a September 20th release for the film with sequel talk already swirling.
Finally, “Spirited Away” and “Princess Mononoke” filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki is already considering his next film after “The Boy and the Heron,” and his son has just teased it.
Goro Miyazaki, a director in his own right on films like “Tales from Earthsea” and “From Up on Poppy Hill,” tells Oricon (via ComicBook.com) his dad’s currently working on something that is “looking like an action-adventure-type movie, nostalgic and reminiscent of the old days.”
“The Boy and the Heron” is coming to a digital download release on June 25th followed by a disc release on July 9th.
