Normani has signed a new management deal.
On Monday (Aug. 7), Brandon Creed and Lydia Asrat signed the singer to a co-management deal through Creed’s newly-launched Good World Management and Asrat’s Q10. The deal comes months after she and her former management company, Brandon Silverstein‘s S10 Entertainment, amicably parted ways in May.
“Change is good,” Silverstein told Billboard via email. “S10 is headed in another direction and I felt like it was time for us to move on. We achieved incredible success together over the seven years. We wish her nothing but the best in her future.”
As for Normani, a rep shared this statement with Rolling Stone, which broke the news: “With new music on the horizon, and Asrat and Creed now at the helm of her musical career, she and the rest of her team are extremely excited to embark on this new chapter and partnership.”
Creed announced Good World Management in July, with an official launch date of Aug. 1. His last major move came in 2017, when he merged his own The Creed Company with Irving and Jeffrey Azoff‘s firm to form Full Stop Management. Creed’s current roster includes Mark Ronson, Troye Sivan and Charli XCX, among others. He formerly managed Lizzo at Full Stop.
Asrat co-founded Q10 with Josh Kaplan. As CEO, she currently manages Coco Jones and co-managed Doja Cat until last March.
Since Normani launched her solo career in the wake of Fifth Harmony — which in 2018 announced an indefinite hiatus — she has charted four singles on the Hot 100, including two top 10s: her feature on Sam Smith’s “Dancing With a Stranger” and her collaboration with Khalid, “Love Lies.” Her most recent single, “Fair,” arrived last March. She has yet to release her long-awaited debut album, though she continues to tease that it’s on the way.
