“Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight is set to develop “House of Guinness,” a Netflix-scripted historical series about the famed Irish brewery.
Knight will work with his long-time producing collaborator Kudos on the project for the streaming giant’s UK slate. The show will follow the story of one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties.
Unfolding in 19th-century Dublin and New York, this deals with the fallout of the death of Benjamin Guinness who was responsible for the extraordinary success of the brewery.
It will have a far-reaching impact on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the company.
The title was announced as part of Netflix UK content this past week, along with several other projects, including Jamie Dornan-led “The Undertow,” which is about a love triangle with Dornan playing twins.
There’s also the political thriller “The Choice” starring Suranne Jones and Julie Delpy as the British Prime Minister and French President respectively, the true crime drama “The Witness,” and the next Harlan Coben adaptation “Missing You” landing Richard Armitage and Lenny Henry in key roles.
