Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass DLC is coming this Summer.

A trio of new characters are coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass DLC. Revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct, Double Dash’s Petey Piranha, Mario Kart 7’s Wiggler, and Tour’s Kamek are joining the roster of playable characters.
Plus, a new course called Squeaky Clean Sprint was revealed to be one of the eight courses coming as part of the fifth wave. The gameplay showed characters driving through a bathroom complete with a bathtub, sink, and toilet. No release date was given, but we know Wave 5 is coming sometime this Summer.
Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass marks the penultimate wave of tracks and characters before the DLC wraps up with Wave 6. Overall, it will add 48 tracks and six new characters to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s already-impressive lineup of content. The previous wave brought back fan-favorite Birdo.
We called Mario Kart 8 Deluxe amazing in our review, saying, “This is the best entry in the series so far, and it has all the content you’ll need. Returning players have seen a lot of this game before, but the overhauled Battle mode and its five additional ways to play are a great reason to pick it up.”
