Pierre LeBrun keeps CH goalkeepers in check

There’s a lot of talk about the Montreal Canadiens’ goaltenders, especially now that Samuel Montembeault has landed a multi-year deal that will pay him a total of $9.45 million.

In fact, according to information provided by Bruce Garrioch via the Ottawa Sun earlier this week, the Kraken and Sabres have opened discussions with Kent Hughes regarding one of his masked men.

To the ears and eyes of fans, journalists and bloggers, this was seductive information, since this damn ménage à trois is laughable. It’s generating far too much interest, which is becoming a burden for everyone who stares at the Montreal Canadiens with great passion.

So here Pierre LeBrun comes fresh with more information about the rumours surrounding Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau (because Samuel Montembeault is no longer available).

According to the details provided by LeBrun via a rumor-filled text published on The Athletic, Hughes has (probably) not received any trade proposals for either of his goaltenders at this time.

“They don’t want to keep three all season. They’re listening to Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau and would be willing to trade either one. I don’t think they’ve received a trade offer for either, but it’s still early.” – LeBrun

Contrary to the Tricolore’s objective, Steve Yzerman’s Red Wings seem very comfortable with three goaltenders in their line-up for the entire campaign. Yzerman wants to protect himself in this position with a view to participating in the spring waltz.

However, should an offer be forthcoming, Steve Y will have to analyze the situation before declining.
