The estimated jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing surpassed $140 million. While many fans of America’s popular lottery tried their luck, no one was able to guess correctly the winning numbers from the latest drawing.
White balls 17, 34, 56, 60, 61 and the red Powerball 9 were the winning numbers from the latest draw. And while nobody was able to secure the top prize from Powerball on Wednesday, nobody collected a million-dollar prize too.
The recent turn of events enabled the jackpot to continue growing, going north of $160 million. With the next Powerball drawing scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2024, lottery players will attempt to secure a whopping $161 million jackpot prize. The aforementioned sum represents an initial payment, followed by annual installments for 29 years.
Yet, if a lottery player is lucky enough to match the winning numbers from the upcoming draw, they can also secure a lump sum cash of $75.2 million. Whatever the case, each sum is mind-blowing and is expected to completely change the life of the winner.
Still, it’s important to note that the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. On the other hand, the odds of securing a prize from the popular game are 1 in 24.9 million.
The latest drawing saw only four people guess correctly four winning white balls along with the red Powerball. This granted them a $50,000 prize each, while one lucky lottery player secured a Power Play prize of $100,000 by guessing the same numbers.
Mega Millions Grand Prize Continues to Grow
Just like the jackpot from Powerball survived earlier this week, so did the grand prize from Mega Millions. The draw on Tuesday saw winning numbers 12, 18, 48, 57 and 62, along with Gold Mega Ball 4.
Sadly, nobody guessed correctly all winning numbers, which enabled the jackpot to continue increasing. Just like with Powerball, there was no one that secured a seven-figure prize from Tuesday’s Mega Million drawing.
On the bright side, 12 people guessed correctly four white balls along with the Gold Mega Ball which granted them a $10,000 prize each. Two lucky winners scooped up a Megaplier Prize of $50,000 each.
The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11 PM ET. The jackpot from the game is estimated to hit $522 million. A cash option is also possible, which would be $241.4 million.
