Gamers are just days away from seeing one of the best ever Xbox and PlayStation franchises brought to life in a blockbuster new telly series.
Hit post-apocalypse shooter Fallout has been given a big money Hollywood-style makeover by Amazon and the brains behind the much-loved Westworld TV series.
A new trailer for the show, which airs all episodes on the streaming service Prime Video on April 11, builds on the game’s signature dark humour and iconic, expansive world post-nuclear war.
Fallout, by game maker Bethesda, is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have.
Actress Ella Purnell plays vault dweller Lucy
Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.
British-American filmmaker Jonathan Nolan, who wrote hit show Person of Interest and is the brother of Batman director Christopher, has helmed the first three action-packed episodes.
The trailer sees vault dweller Lucy (played by actress Ella Purnell) struggle to adapt to the twisted and dangerous world of the irradiated wasteland.
The show promises action and adventure
It offers the first glimpse of characters Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury) and Ma June (Dale Dickey).
A spokesman said: “Ella Purnell is Lucy, an optimistic Vault-dweller with an all-American can-do spirit.
“Her peaceful and idealistic nature is tested when she is forced to the surface to rescue her father.
“It will be available to stream in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.”
