“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson will reprise his role of Kevin ‘Thad’ Castle in a sequel to the 2010 cult college football series “Blue Mountain State”.
Original series co-leads Darin Brooks and Chris Romano also are expected to be back for the follow-up, as are creators Chris Romano and Eric Falconer.
“Blue Mountain State” dealt with a fictitious university and its football team, the Mountain Goats. It followed three incoming freshmen who must adapt to college life, including football, girls, hazing and actual school.
Negotiations are reportedly ongoing for the revival which is being produced by Lionsgate Television.
Potential homes include either Amazon, where “Reacher” airs, or Netflix, where the series achieved cult success after its original three-season run on Spike TV.
The property was already revived in 2016 with “Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland,” a Kickstarter-funded film.
