Sara Marley, Lauryn Hill‘s daughter, celebrated her sweet sixteen with a Great Gatsby flare. The teenager’s party went down at the Cipriani Ballroom in New York City in mid-January.
Pictures of the night show off stunning crystal chandeliers hanging overhead as partygoers dressed in Jazz Age garbs danced the night away. But, unlike Scott F. Fitzgerald’s 1925 tale, this version of Gatsby starred flamboyant Black beauty.
Galia Lahav, the fashion luxury brand responsible for Marley’s look, posted a recap of the night on Instagram. The brand detailed Sara’s custom “NALA & JILL” gown and minidress for the commemoration. GL also provided a bit of backstory regarding the sweet sixteen‘s theme and aesthetic.

Photographer Irma Mchedlishvili also shared intimate views of the coming-of-age celebration. Mchedlishvili uploaded photos of Marley’s family and friends to her IG Story. The collection of memories shows various snaps featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill and her other kids having a blast.
