The Hong Kong Book Fair is one of the largest book fairs in Asia and a grand summer event in Hong Kong. “Sassy Sonja” follows Sonja Kent as she leaves Jacksonville to start a new life in Atlanta after the death of her abusive ex-husband. The story is set in the 1960s when segregation is ending in the South and a new day of racial equality is dawning. Marion gets involved with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Sonja supports the end of segregation, but she is fearful of the violence that can erupt from the social change as two influential people were assassinated, thus causing a spiral of events.
