Paramount+ has ordered a second season of the young adult supernatural drama “School Spritis” starring Peyton List (“Cobra Kai”).
List plays as Maddie, a teenage girl who finds herself trapped within the geographic boundaries of her high school after getting murdered by an unknown killer. She soon finds herself enlisted into an Afterlife Support Group which consists of several teen spirits who can’t seem to leave the place where they died.
With their help, she’ll try to solve her own murder and find out who is the mysterious person that ruined her life. The closer she gets to uncovering the truth, the more secrets and lies she discovers both from the living and the dead.
Kristian Flores, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese, Rainbow Wedell, Milo Manheim, Josh Zuckerman, and Maria Dizzia co-star in the series.
The show is based on the graphic novel which hails from writers Nate and Megan Trinrud, who created and executive produce the show’s eight-episode run. Oliver Goldstick is showrunner, and executive produces along with Max Winkler, who directs the first two episodes.
The renewal comes two months after the show’s first season ended on a cliffhanger. Season two is slated to begin production in 2024, with the Trinruds and Goldstick set to return.
