Whether she’s on the tennis court or the red carpet, Serena Williams always serves; this is a well-known and undeniable fact. So what better place to put her knack for the game and the fashion arena on display than at the Summer Olympics?
While attending the Prelude to the Olympics party at Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris ahead of the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26, Williams showed off a bright new shade of platinum blonde that’s pretty much peak summer hair inspo.
Seeing its waist-length mermaid waves with a deep Old Hollywood side part, all I can say is: Yeah, this is definitely going on my glam mood board.
While Williams’s new hue is a stark contrast from her previous shade of honey ombré bronde, now’s the time to pull out all the beauty shots. It is the Olympics, after all. And in Paris, no less! Go big or go home, right? Go big she did, and it weren’t for her sleek pantsuit, I’d think she was an actual mermaid.
Ever the beauty icon, the Libra paired her iconic new do and elegant ensemble with a pop of sparking purple shadow and a glossy nude lip. Is slaying an Olympic sport yet? Asking for Serena!!!

I kid, I kid: Although tennis is one of the Summer Olympics categories, Williams is sitting this one out. (Not because she’s retired, though; she seemingly un-retired in May.)
As for who’s holding down the court in the meantime? None other than Coco Gauff. Currently ranked number two in the PIF WTA Rankings, Gauff is following in Williams’s footsteps. She will also serve as one of the flag bearers for Team USA during the opening ceremony.
