Showtime
Showtime has premiered the new full trailer for its period limited series “Fellow Travelers” starring Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey.
Created by Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner (“Homeland”) and based on the novel by Thomas Mallon, the film is both a love story and political thriller.
The action chronicles the volatile romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington of the 1950s. Hawkins Fuller (Bomer) is handsome, charismatic, ambitious, and maintains a financially rewarding behind-the scenes career in politics.
One day he meets Tim Laughlin (Bailey), a young man brimming with idealism and religious faith. They begin a romance just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn declare war on “subversives and sexual deviants”.
Over the course of four decades, the story follows the pair along with Marcus (Jelani Alladin), Lucy (Allison Williams), and Frankie (Noah J. Ricketts) as they live through the Vietnam War protests, the era of disco hedonism, and the AIDS crisis.
Nyswaner and Bomer executive produce with Robbie Rogers and Daniel Minahan. The limited series begins streaming October 27th on the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan.
