Snoop Dogg is returning to Hollywood and is set to star in the upcoming film, The Underdoggs. The two-minute trailer showcases the rapper/entrepreneur taking on the role of Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings, a washed-up former pro football star who gets into legal trouble.
After being in court, he does community service as a coach for a struggling youth football team in his hometown. During his time coaching, he decides to turn his life around and rediscover his love of the game.
Fans on Twitter (X) expressed their excitement after watching the trailer for The Underdoggs. User @GregoryHaines18 commented, “This looks really good to me. Can’t wait to see it. Looks like a cross of the longest yard and hardball,” while @Lebowski76 added, “Ok, this looks funny as hell.”
Not only is Snoop Dogg starring in the film, but he is also serving as a producer alongside renowned television and film producer Kenya Barris. The movie features a star-studded cast, including Tika Sumpter, Andrew Schulz, Mike Epps, George Lopez, and a cameo appearance by former NFL star Tony Gonzalez.
The Underdoggs is set to be released exclusively on Prime Video on January 26, 2024.
