“Spider-Man 4” Still Seeking A Director

“Spider-Man 4” Still Seeking A Director

Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man 4” is still searching for a director it seems.

With the recent trilogy director Jon Watts exiting the franchise once the third film was out, there have been various names linked to the next movie which Sony is believed to be trying to get in production by early Fall for an end of year 2025 release.

Justin Lin (“Fast Five”), Drew Goddard (“Bad Times at the El Royale”) and more recently Adam Wingard (“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire”) were all linked.

However all seem to be out of the running as each is occupied with other projects – Lin with “Stakehorse” at MGM, Goddard with the next “Matrix” film, and Wingard with “Onslaught”.

More recently “Bad Boys for Life” directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the pair who also directed the scrapped in early post-production “Batgirl” film for Warner Bros. Pictures, were linked.

When asked about it the other day, Fallah indicated he couldn’t discuss it which only fed the rumors. Now, appearing on the red carpet for the “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” premiere, the duo has denied the talk.

Talking with ComicBook.com, they suggest no-one has actually approached them about the gig. Fallah adds that: “I’m a superfan of Spider-Man, so you can imagine, when I was reading that, I was like, ‘Whoa — that would be cool’.”

The outlet asked if they could bring back their “Batgirl” co-star Michael Keaton for the next Spidey – see him returning to the role of The Vulture. The two respond saying it would be a great idea and joking “we’re going to bring Michael Keaton in everything now”.
