Stalley and Kevin Durant are assertive about their respective grinds in “Scared Money.”
Released on Friday (Feb. 16), the song sees the Ohio rapper returning with his first drop of 2024. Stalley released the songs “Awakened” and “Farming” last year.
Produced by Bam, “Scared Money” was recorded last summer, per TMZ. The official music video, directed by Rook Director, was shot in New York City a few weeks back. According to the tabloid, the NBA All-Star requested the rapper send him a beat. The track comes ahead of the upcoming release of a new album from Stalley, Peerless which drops in March.
“Ayo, look, rest in peace to Barbara Davis, we hit another layer/When she speak to me, it’s like she sayin’ prayers/I feel like Randy Moss when he was on the Raiders/Man, they love to hate us,” rhymes the Washington D.C. native.

While the 6′ 11″ power forward is most known for his skills on the court, “Scared Money” may only be the start of a successful rap career.
Last year, Lil Wayne revealed the 35-year-old was initially featured on his and 2 Chainz’s collaborative Welcome 2 Collegrove album. The secret verse was revealed after journalist Taylor Rooks relayed a message to the New Orleans native from the athlete.
“KD You’ve messed up, now that you’ve done that. I just want you to know you messed up. That song was being considered to be on Carter VI and now since you’re saying something, it’s not going on [the] Carter VI. No, I’m not playing the snippet,” shared the Grammy Award-winning artist.
He continued to give his opinion on KD’s rap skills, saying “KD’s a jewel. He’s a backpack rapper. I can imagine he probably could call a timeout in a game, and probably ask him to rap and he probably got a verse for you.”
