Stephen Appiah Enters Politics – To Contest Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary Seat as Independent Candidate

News

Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, has become the latest ex-international to declare his interest in entering politics.

Appiah, according to reports, is considering running in the 2024 Parliamentary elections to become the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon in the Greater Accra Region.

A flier purporting to communicate Appiah’s decision has hit social media.

It’s unknown if the former Stars captain himself has confirmed the decision.

Appiah’s path to Parliament is set to be an arduous one as the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat is expected to be stiffly contested.

The incumbent MP is Lydia Alhassan of the NPP who is gearing up for a rematch with actor John Dumelo.
