With a family of four young kids, former Boy’z member Steven Cheung (張致恒) and wife, Au Yin Man (區燕雯) have
more than once proclaimed their financial struggles since they tied the knot back in 2019. Recently sharing about their eldest son’s autism and hyperactivity diagnosis, Man Man revealed in a social update on March 1 that she was at her wits’ end, “A resolution looks near, but I can’t even hold on until then, what should I do? There won’t be a miracle, how do I continue…”
About six hours later that same evening, Steven followed suit and took to social media where he uploaded a QR code linked to his banking account, asking for financial help from netizens to help him tide over the period. “I know doing this is not a wise decision, but I am really at the point of desperation, after this month everything will be back to normal, so I really hope for everyone to lend us a little help,” he wrote.
Man Man previously shared in a lengthy Instagram story about her parenting stress, and how netizens did not understand the challenges the couple faced while conveniently faulting them for not working. Revealing her suicidal thoughts, she mentioned how it was impossible to care for four little ones with just one of them, and that the couple was currently awaiting a domestic helper so one of them could head out to work two jobs. In a rare display, Man Man even thanked Steven for learning to “care for the kids”.
