Dan Stevens (“Legion,” “The Guest,” “Eurovision Song Contest”) is officially taking over the lead voice role in Hulu’s animated comedy “Solar Opposites”.
“Rick and Morty” co-creator Justin Roiland co-created “Solar Opposites” and was fired from the show in January following allegations and prior charges for domestic abuse.
Roiland was famously fired from the series after the show’s sixth season following allegations and prior charges for domestic abuse.
He was also removed from Hulu animated show “Koala Man” at that time, whilst Adult Swim issued a statement confirming they were ending their association with Roiland.
Stevens will play Korvo, dubbed “a grouchy alien who always wears ceremonial robes and professes to hate Earth. He desperately wants to fix their spaceship so he can escape to a new planet.”
Stevens joins fellow cast members Thomas Middleditch, Sean Giambrone, and Mary Mack. The show’s fourth season will debut in August, and the series has already been renewed for a fifth season.
The news comes as Cartoon Network President Michael Ouweleen reportedly confirmed at the Annecy International Festival last week that they are currently recasting each of Roiland’s roles in the “Rick and Morty” series.
