While many keep mourning his untimely death, the aftermath has also made a lot of Nigerians to troll celebrities. Celebrities who have chosen not to post about the late artist have on the receiving end of a lot of fire.
In an Instagram video, veteran actress Kate Henshaw stepped forward to caution Nigerians against this growing trend of trolling and reminded everyone of the importance of empathy during difficult times.
Kate Henshaw, took to Instagram to address the issue of online trolling. She emphasized that people should refrain from criticizing and trolling celebrities who have chosen not to post about Mohbad’s passing or have continued promoting their own work without paying immediate tribute.
She stated that we don’t know how people deal with things. It was a reminder that everyone processes grief differently. The actress urged her fellow Nigerians to show compassion and understanding instead of resorting to harsh judgments.
One important aspect of Mohbad’s passing has been the outpouring of financial support for his surviving family members, particularly his young son.
Samklef, shared on Twitter (now known as X) that they had raised an impressive N32,744,900 for Mohbad’s son. This show of generosity was a great show of the unity and solidarity in the Nigerian entertainment community.
However, concerns about the responsible management of these funds have also arisen. Many suggest that the creation of a trust fund for the nany should be done to ensure that the money raised would be safeguarded for his future.
Kemi Filani also reported that the Lagos State Police Command has taken a significant step by inaugurating a 13-man special investigation team to probe the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
