Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, revealed the five major fashion houses that would not dress the actress at the onset of her career.
“I would write [to] the big five … and they would all say no,” he said during a recent appearance on “The Cutting Room Floor” podcast, referring to Saint Laurent, Dior, Valentino, Chanel and Gucci.
Roach, who has dressed the “Euphoria” star since she was 14, said they consistently told him, “’Try again next year. She’s too green. She’s not on our calendar.’”

“I still have the receipts,” the celebrity stylist, 45, noted, adding that he and Zendaya, 27, have continued to evade those designers.
“By the time she got to [the cover of] American Vogue [in 2017], she still had never worn any of those designers. She still hasn’t,” he added.
Roach then clairfied that the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” actress has sported pieces from those five designers in editiorial shoots, but not in public or on red carpets.

“She still has never worn Dior on a carpet. She still has never worn Chanel on a carpet. She has still never worn Gucci on a carpet — any press, any appearance, never. Never,” he explained.
“The first time she wore Valentino in public is when she had a contract,” the “Legendary” alum continued.
“When I said, ‘If you say no, it’ll be a no forever,’ that rang true for a long, long time.”
It appears that none of the “big five” fashion houses have responded to the allegations.
Roach has not been one to bite his tongue about the downside of Hollywood.

In March 2023, the “OMG Fashun” co-host announced he was retiring from fashion due to the “politics” and “lies” within the industry.
“My Cup is empty….. thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all,” he wrote in a since-deleted post on Instagram at the time.

“The politics , the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win … I’m out.”
However, Roach made his grand return this past February, styling Celine Dion for her comeback to the 2024 Grammys stage.
Most recently, he styled Zendaya for the 2024 Met Gala, where the “Challengers” actress served as co-chair for fashion’s biggest night, wearing not one but two glamorous gowns.
