Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface has undergone a successful surgery, and will now begin rehabilitation on his groin injury.
Boniface was ruled out of Nigeria’s 2023 AFCON squad on Tuesday after he sustained the injury during their training camp in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
“Victor Boniface was successfully operated today in Berlin. The striker will return to Leverkusen later this week to start his rehabilitation process,” the club shared on X.
Leverkusen had earlier announced that the player would be out of action until April.
He has been replaced in Nigeria’s squad for AFCON 2023 by OGC Nice of France star, Terem Moffi.
