Terrell Owens was intentionally struck by a car in California following a dispute with a man over a basketball game.
According to TMZ, the incident, which occurred Monday night (Oct. 16), stemmed from a heated exchange between Owens and a man during a pick-up game in Calabasas earlier in the evening. After finishing playing, the former All-Pro wide-receiver was preparing to leave when he was hit in his knee by a car driven by the same man he had argued with earlier in the day.
However, Owens’ didn’t sustain any serious injuries and did not receive medical attention, according to police. No arrests have been made in the case, which is being deemed an “assault with a deadly weapon,” and the incident is currently under investigation. Owens has yet to comment on the incident, which marks the latest instance of the NFL Hall of Famer being caught in the news as of late.

In September, Owens’ discorded with ESPN First Take host Stephen A. Smith. Owens reacted to a resurfaced clip of him saying that former First Take cohost Max Kellerman seemed “Blacker” than Smith during an appearance on the show in 2019. The assertion was one the Queens, N.Y. native took umbrage with, leading him to address the topic on The Stephen A Smith Show on YouTube, but not before threatening to expose the 49-year-old in a response to Owens’ tweet.
“Now… as for this dude, that’s an entirely different story. You know how I feel about your sorry a** @terrellowens and you know why!” the HBCU graduate wrote. “You should thank your Heavenly Father I haven’t zeroed in on you with the trifling sh*t you tried to pull. Tell folks to ask ESPN what your desperate a** tried to pull. Keep on talking. Eventually, you’ll expose yourself! #REALFACTS.”
