The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has made it clear that he will not tolerate LGBTQ activities in Ghana if elected president, regardless of any potential consequences.
He emphasised that such activities go against the core values of the nation and therefore cannot be allowed to occur.
Highlighting the religious and cultural perspectives, Dr. Bawumia noted that both the Bible and the Quran, as well as the beliefs of the Ghanaian people, reject the practices associated with LGBTQ movements.
The Vice President reaffirmed his unyielding opposition to LGBTQ activities during a meeting with religious leaders in Tamale. He stated that his view on the topic is non-negotiable.
He gave the assembled clergy his word that, should he be elected president, he would vigorously fight any efforts to legitimize or mainstream such behavior.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that LGBTQ activities in Ghana will not be tolerated or accepted under his future administration.
