The Habs aren’t a team that scores lots and lots of goals.
They rank first in the NHL in goals scored by defensemen so far this season, but offensively, it’s more difficult.
Sean Monahan is the CH’s leading scorer with eight goals, which gives a good idea of the situation.
After defeating the Seattle Kraken last night at the Bell Centre, Martin St-Louis’ men took to the ice in Brossard this morning… And players who wanted to had the chance to work with Glen Tucker, a trainer who specializes in shooting.
The man nicknamed “Dr. Shoot” has worked in the past with Jarome Iginla, Patrice Bergeron, Jack Eichel, David Pastrnak, Anthony Duclair, Conor Garland, John Tavares and many others.
“We’re just trying to help the players,” said Martin St-Louis after this morning’s training session.
The Habs apparently brought in renowned shooting specialist Glen Tucker during practice today.
Nicknamed “Dr. Shot” by his students, he’s worked with players such as Jarome Iginla, Patrice Bergeron, Jack Eichel & David Pastrnak.

The Habs have the luxury of excellent resources and they need to use them.
If it gives the guys a chance to work on something they don’t often work on in training, the players will be happy.
At least, Kaiden Guhle looked like a guy who was satisfied with his training session:
I’d say I haven’t taken a course like this for at least three years. It’s more in the summer that I find the time to work on this important aspect of the game. I was happy to meet him. – Kaiden Guhle
After practice, Juraj Slafkovsky also told journalists that he enjoyed the experience.
It’s cool, because sometimes guys achieve things by working with specialists like this. All the players are excellent, we agree, and they didn’t get to the professional level for nothing.
But that doesn’t mean they’ve got nothing left to learn either. In life, you can always improve in any area, and the CH organization understands that.
It certainly makes a change.
