Mabel Tiwaa Rockson of Hallelujah Voices, the original performer of the hit Ghanaian gospel tune that has now become the subject of litigation, ‘Defe Defe’, has broken her silence on the issue.
Team Eternity, a contemporary Ghanaian gospel group recently sang a new version of the song which has become arguably the most popular song in Ghana right now.
However, the original producer of the song has accused them of copyright infringement and proceeded legal action against Team Eternity.
Tiwaa Rockson, who was lead vocalist on the Hallelujah Voices when they performed the song back then, has also reacted.
She threw her weight behind the copyright suit.
According to her, she got angry when someone from Team Eternity called her husband and said they should stop behaving like secular artists but should rather behave like gospel artists!
