Welcome to the Glen, where the community enjoys their life doing daily activities like shopping, attending church and spending time with family and friends….but is there something taking place right before their eyes that they don’t know about?
In Juel Taylor’s “The Cloned Tyrone” — his feature film directorial debut — viewers are introduced to Fontaine (John Boyega), Yo-Yo (Teyonah Parris) and Slick Charles (Jamie Foxx). Together the trio embark on a series on strange adventures that eventually lead them to discovering an insidious plot put together by the government.
The Netflix film was written by Taylor and his writing partner Tony Rettenmaier, and comes out in select theaters on Friday, and will hit Netflix screens globally on Friday, July 21. Here’s the cast and character guide for “They Cloned Tyrone.”

Fontaine (John Boyega) @johnboyega
John Boyega stars as Fontaine in “The Cloned Tyrone.” He’s the Glen’s neighborhood hustler, who doesn’t take mess from anyone and is quick to draw his gun if someone gets out of line. Sporting a gold grill and a stoic personality, Fontaine lives out his life underneath his mother’s room while mourning the loss of his brother Ronnie.
The British actor has starred in several projects, including “The Woman King,” Pacific Rim Uprising,” “Breaking” and more.

Yo-Yo (Teyonah Parris) @teyonahparris
Yo-Yo (Teyonah Parris) wants more out of life than being a sex worker for Slick Charles (Jamie Foxx). She’s always had dreams of getting out of Glen and pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors. And like her childhood hero Nancy Drew, Yo-Yo plays a key role in solving the strange mysteries going on in the community.
The actress had her breakout role in the 2014 independent film “Dear White People,” on which she plated Colandrea Conners. She went on to star in the Starz comedy series “Survivor’s Remorse.” Some of her other projects include “WandaVision,” “Candyman,” “Chi-Raq” and more. She’ll be next seen in “The Marvels,” reprising her “WandaVision” role of Monica Rambeau.

Slick Charles (Jamie Foxx) @iamjamiefoxx
The winner of the International Players Ball back in 1995, Slick Charles, played by Jamie Foxx, now lives out his life as a pimp. And he’s not taking any disrespect from anyone, including his girls. The only person he has to answer to Fontaine (John
Boyega), who only comes around when money is owed to him.
Jamie Foxx’s career spans over three decades, with one of his standout roles being Wanda on “In Living Color.” The Oscar award-winning actor has starred in a slew of TV shows and films, including “Ray,” “The Jamie Foxx Show,” “Django Unchained” and “Annie.”
