Eligibility criteria encompass various scenarios, including retirees receiving pensions or subsidies from the Spanish Social Security system, widows receiving pensions, and individuals insured or beneficiaries of the Spanish Social Security system.

For expatriate retirees, eligibility hinges on legal residency status in Spain, attainable through avenues such as non-working residence visas or real estate investments qualifying for a ‘golden visa.’Applicants are assessed based on factors like age, disability status, financial circumstances, and prior participation in social tourism trips. Notably, eligible retirees can bring along spouses, partners, or disabled children, even if they do not meet the eligibility criteria.
Applications for the program are typically submitted electronically or via mail, with acceptance letters detailing trip options and instructions for booking. Upon acceptance, participants utilise their program ID card to reserve their preferred trips through the program’s official travel site during the booking window in October.
