Travis Kelce still has some tricks up his sleeve for his next Eras Tour performance if Taylor Swift is willing to have him back for round two.
Ever since the NFL player traded in his Kansas City Chiefs uniform for a tuxedo and top hat at Swift’s third London show, fans have been wondering who came up with the brilliant idea to bring him into the vaudeville act between “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “I Can Do it With a Broken Heart.” During the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, we finally got to hear all about how Kelce found himself on stage at Wembley Stadium in late June.
“I initially mentioned it to Tay,” he told Jason Kelce, revealing he thought it would be “funny” to ride one of the bikes during ”Blank Space” in the 1989 segment of the show. “She started laughing,” Kelce recalled. “She was like, ‘Would you seriously be up for like, doing something like that?”
Obviously, the answer was yes—and Swift found “the perfect part of the show” to launch Kelce’s pop career.

Kelce went on to tell his brother that he took inspiration from Jim Carrey’s 1994 comedy Dumb & Dumber for his little tap-dancing bit, which is one of the most Travis Kelce things I’ve ever heard. However, he didn’t reveal every move in his arsenal.
The Chiefs player admitted he wanted to do some “extra stuff” while carrying Swift from the floor to the “ICDIWABH” couch, but was primarily focussed on keeping his girlfriend safe. “The one thing I told myself is, ‘Do not drop the baby,’” he said. “Do not drop Taylor on your way over [to] this damn couch.”
