Netflix has announced that the eighth season of its popular Spanish teen drama “Elite” will be its last. News of the show’s end comes just two days before the seventh season releases. Gangs of London
Production has officially begun on a third season of Sky and AMC+ series “Gangs of London”. Kim Hong Sun (“Project Wolf Hunting”) will direct and executive produce the upcoming eight-episode season, with Peter McKenna (“Kin”) serving as lead writer and executive producer.
The series will see Sope Dirisu and Joe Cole reprising their roles as Elliot Carter and Sean Wallace in the new season which begins with a shipment of cocaine is spiked, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians all over London. [Source: Variety]

Altitude Television has announced plans for a modern TV series remake of the beloved 1970s stop-motion animated British family series “The Wombles”. The show followed a secretive group of furry creatures who live beneath Wimbledon Common. Will Davies (“How to Train Your Dragon”) is behind the new show based on Elisabeth Beresford’s children’s novels. [Source: Deadline]
Doctors
The BBC has cancelled the long-running soap “Doctors” after 23 years, 24 seasons and 4,389 episodes having aired. The reason given is for “financial reasons”. The final episode will screen in December 2024.
Chris Murray created the series which follows the lives of the staff of an NHS surgery and a university campus surgery and the lives of their families and friends in a fictional West Midlands town. [Source: Variety]
