“Twisted Metal” Sets Peacock Bingeing Record

Peacock

Peacock’s newest series, an adaptation of the PlayStation video game franchise “Twisted Metal,” has become the streamer’s “most-binged” comedy premiere to date.

According to NBCUniversal, in the first two weeks since the show launched, the average account watched about three episodes per sitting, with some knocking out all ten episodes in a single viewing window.

One of the reasons for this is that the series is relatively quick with its runtimes coming in as short as 24 minutes and none longer than 33 minutes, with most right on the 29-30 minute mark.

NBCUniversal didn’t reveal how many people have watched the series but it has reportedly joined “Poker Face,” “Bel Air,” “The Best Man: Final Chapters” and “Based on a True Story” as one of Peacock’s top five original series launched to date.

The high-octane action comedy is based on an original take by “Deadpool” scribes Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and follows a motor-mouthed outsider (Anthony Mackie) who must deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa co-star whilst Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, Lou Beatty Jr. guest star.

Michael Jonathan Smith wrote the series and served as showrunner.
