A Ghanaian man living in the United States of America has expressed frustration at the insane amount charged as duty on imported items.
In a video going viral on social media, the man revealed he paid $2,000 to purchase a car in the U.S. and decided to ship it to Ghana.
However, he was told at the port that he had to pay nearly $5,000 in duty to get the car cleared at the port!
He lamented how such high duty prices are usually used to fleece money from Ghanaians abroad who want to do something to help their relatives back home.

Indeed, the issue of insane duty fees at the port has been ongoing for a long time with people often complaining about it.
The worst part is the majority of those extortionate fees go towards corrupt officials at the port and do nothing to help develop Ghana.
