WMG unveils its new creative hub, The Amsterdam Music Harbour, home to Warner Music Benelux, Warner Chappell Music Benelux, and Spinnin’ Records, bringing the three companies into one shared space for the first time.
Warner Music Group has unveiled its new creative hub in the heart of Amsterdam, home to Warner Music Benelux, Warner Chappell Music Benelux, and Spinnin’ Records. The move brings the three companies together into one shared space for the first time.
The Amsterdam Music Harbour is a multi-level warehouse with “industry chic” vibes, serving as a home base for its employees and a resource for domestic and international artists, songwriters, and producers. The newly opened space has four high-quality recording studios and various creative spaces, located near key WMG partners like AFAS, Arena, Google, Hugo Boss, Netflix, and Ziggo.
The grand opening event took place on the first day of Amsterdam Dance Event 2023, one of the world’s largest dance music festivals that last year saw over 300,000 artists, songwriters, producers, industry specialists, and fans attending related workshops, panels, and performances across the city. Over 400 guests were in attendance at the grand opening, with performances from international DJs Billy Gillies, Chasing Abbey, Dastic, Joel Corry, and many more.
“Today is the start of a new era for WMG in the Dutch market. Amsterdam is the beating heart of the Netherlands and where our teams, artists, and songwriters want to be,” says Niels Walboomers, President of Records and Publishing, Benelux.
“With our brand-new recording studios and facilities, we’re empowered to evolve our creative culture across our recorded music and publishing businesses. We can’t wait to welcome our artists, songwriters, and WMG teams from all around the world to collaborate with us at the Amsterdam Music Harbour so we can do what we do best — enable our artists and songwriters to create amazing new music.”
“We’re proud to take prime position in this beautifully converted warehouse in the center of the city,” add Ewout Swart and Roger De Graaf, Co-Presidents of Spinnin’ Records. “Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most energetic and vibrant cities, and the opening of the space exemplifies our commitment to remain the largest and most innovative dance label in the world. The new space and its facilities will enable us to offer leading experiences for both the current and future generation of Spinnin’ Records.”
