TVING has released an action-packed trailer and group poster for its upcoming drama “Death’s Game”!
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Death’s Game” tells the story of a man who gets more than one second chance at life after facing death. Park So Dam will play the role of Death, who sentences a man named Choi Yi Jae (Seo In Guk) to 12 cycles of life and death.
In addition to Seo In Guk and Park So Dam, the drama’s star-studded cast includes Kim Ji Hoon, Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, Sung Hoon, Kim Kang Hoon, Jang Seung Jo, Lee Jae Wook, Lee Do Hyun, Go Yoon Jung, Kim Jae Wook, Oh Jung Se, and more.
Warning: mention of attempted suicide.
The new trailer begins with Death announcing her punishment for Choi Yi Jae, who has attempted to take his own life before it was his time. “You will die 12 times in the future,” she declares as she holds him by the throat over a sea of blood. “And, no matter what body you wake up in, you will die no matter what.”
Then, as she lets go, the trailer reveals glimpses of the 12 different faces that Choi Yi Jae will wear as he goes about living his 12 doomed lives.
When Choi Yi Jae initially wakes up and finds himself in someone else’s body (played by Choi Siwon), he looks in the mirror and exclaims in shock, “What is this face? This isn’t my face.” Meanwhile, Death continues her cruel pronouncement, warning, “You will be cut, sliced, crushed, and burned. Feel for yourself how painful and agonizing death is.”
Choi Yi Jae tearfully asks her, “What did I do wrong to deserve this?!” In response, Death steps on his face and replies, “The crime of coming to meet me before I went to find you.” However, Death still provides Choi Yi Jae with a shred of hope, promising, “But if you manage to avoid death in someone else’s body, you will live the rest of your live with that body.”
Amidst flashes of a thrilling fight scene, Choi Yi Jae expresses admiration for one of his bodies that turns out to be impressively athletic. He then says to himself, “Maybe this is actually an opportunity.”
The trailer ends with Choi Yi Jae falling from the sky with a bullet wound in his forehead—before dramatically opening his eyes and deciding, “I can’t die like this.”
