Following this, the monsoon also arrived early in Maharashtra, with heavy rains reported in Mumbai on Sunday. While some states are experiencing an early monsoon, people in Bihar and Jharkhand are still eagerly awaiting its arrival.

In the national capital, Delhi, and several other states, people are currently enduring heat waves and scorching temperatures. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heatwave conditions in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Jharkhand until June 16. A heatwave warning has been issued for Delhi until June 18. However, the southwest monsoon has already begun in many states across the country.

Residents of Madhya Pradesh will need to wait at least another week for the monsoon. The IMD has predicted that the monsoon will arrive in the state by June 20 and will cover the entire state by June 25.

People in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh were hopeful for the timely arrival of the monsoon. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Bihar and Jharkhand between June 16-18, in Uttar Pradesh between June 20-30, and around June 29 in Delhi.

As of now, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for a heatwave in Delhi for the next seven days starting from Wednesday.

In Western India, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand after June 25. Similarly, monsoon rains in Kashmir are also likely to occur after June 25.

The Indian Meteorological Department has announced that there is a likelihood of rain over the next three days in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, and 12 other states.
