A viral story on TikTok alleges a man from Livonia in Michigan known as Douglas Barnes shot and killed Samantha Mccaffrey, a 17-year-old high school student following her prom.
According to the narration, Barnes targeted Mccaffrey as revenge for the killing of his own son, Gino Barnes, by police officer Mike Mccaffrey four years ago, in 2020.
The video narrating the story has gone madly viral on TikTok and sparked tons of interest as people search for more info about the story.

Douglas Barnes is a Livonia man who allegedly shot and killed a high school student, Samantha Maccaffrey, at her prom, as revenge for the death of his own son.
The incident allegedly happened on Friday, when Samantha turned up for her Livonia High School prom at in a limousine.
Barnes was reportedly waiting for her with an AK-47 assault rifle!
He opened fire on Samantha, killing her at the scene.
Barnes is alleged to have then sat down, muttering ‘an eye for an eye’ and waited to be arrested.
So why did Barnes kill Samantha? According to the narration, the death is payback for the death of his own son, Gino Barnes, in 2020, at the hands of Livonia officer Mike Mccaffrey, Samantha’s dad.
Sergeant Mccaffrey allegedly stopped Gino Barnes, the 19-year-old son of Douglas, in 2020, over expired tags.

The two reportedly started arguing and while reaching for his insurance information, Mccaffrey shot Gino dead.
He was later acquitted of any wrongdoing and Douglas reportedly vowed revenge for his son’s death.
Like a wronged man in a movie, Barnes plotted his revenge, but instead of attacking the man who wronged him he decided to kill his daughter, hence the ‘eye for an eye’ – or ‘a son for a daughter’.
Barnes is reported to have monitored Sergean Mccaffrey’s social media post to garner information on his daughter’s prom and put his plan into action.
The Barnes-Mccaffrey story has massively gone viral on social media, eliciting all sorts of responses from different factions.
