He was 40 years old and had been serving as a firefighter-paramedic since 2019.

Adam Finseth Mn spent 5 years with the U.S. Army as an infantry squad leader before later training as a firefighter/paramedic.

He was working with the Abbott Northwestern Hospital as an Emergency Department Technician and as an EMT with the Northfield EMS at the time of his death.

1 Responds to emergency and non-emergency requests to provide efficient and immediate assessment, treatment and transport of the non-critical ill and/or injured patient in the pre-hospital setting and other settings within the scope of training under a physician medical control authority.

2 Provides direct patient care under the direction of a Emergency Department physician or registered nurse. Connects patient to cardiac monitor, acquiring and monitoring vital signs effectively.

3 Manages wound care appropriately by utilizing various sterile dressings and/or irrigation. Assists in the stabilization of critical patients by performing chest compressions, positive pressure ventilations, placing pacer pads, and other assorted tasks.

4 Splinting patients fractures with orthoglass or plaster custom splints per MD’s orders.

5 Performing EKGs and reporting results to attending physician. Assisting MD’s in procedures such as intubations, cardio-versions, LPs, orthopedic reductions, placing central lines, and other procedures.

His loss is deeply felt by the community, and he is remembered for his bravery and service.
